Electric Transmission Texas Donation

November 17, 2014

Electric Transmission Texas, LLC (ETT) donated $10,000 to the Rule Independent School District last week. Greg Blair, AEP Texas Manager of External Affairs, and Dennis O'Dell, AEP Texas Customer Service Representative, presented the donation to Barry McBroom and Jill Brown of  Rule ISD. "We want to thank ETT and AEP for making this donation to our school," said Barry McBroom. "$10,000 is a significant amount of money for a small school, and it will allow us to purchase new technology and services that will benefit all of our students."

ETT is a joint venture between subsidiaries of American Electric Power (AEP) and Berkshire Hathaway Energy Company. ETT constructs, owns and operates transmission facilities within the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, primarily in and around the AEP Texas Central Company and AEP Texas North Company service territories. In 2013, ETT completed construction of seven 345-kilovolt (kV) transmission line projects associated with the Competitive Renewable Energy Zones (CREZ) initiative in west Texas. Completion of the project resulted in 460 miles of new transmission in west Texas. Scrap metal left over from the project was sold and the proceeds were donated to area school districts.
